For many years now it has been my practice to produce collages apart from/in addition to the other work of painting on canvas or drawing on paper. Sometimes collage series have included painting and drawing in the work but this particular series is more thoughtless than that and is comprised mainly of cut or torn pieces of wastepaper to include brochures, advertizing, packaging, mail and also sidewalk litter positioned and glued on the page. Sometimes I simultaneously consider and contemplate unrelated stimuli -that is; stuff that has nothing to do with anything.
